Porous pavement also protects the environment by minimizing storm run-off.
Swales
This is essentially a divot or depression in the landscape that allows rainwater to be diverted to another location. To make it more efficient, you can line the bottom with rocks or water-absorbing plants. The swale must lead the water to another location on your property, where it will either join another body of water, or lead into something like a rain garden. It’s up to you!
